Check-in at the airport

Avianca allows airport check-in at no charge only for passengers on the more expensive Classic and Flex fares.

If you have a Light or Basic fare, you will pay a fee to print your boarding pass at the airport. So check in online for free. The fee for printing your boarding pass at the airport varies by country and flight type and ranges between 15 usd and 22 usd.

Check-in desks open normally 2 hours before a domestic departure and 3-4 hours before an international departure.

The latest check-in time is normally 60 minutes for international flights and 40 minutes for domestic flights.

Online check-in

You can check in online normally 48 hours - 2 hours before departure.

You can check in online at checkinnew.avianca.com or via the mobile app - Google Play / App Store. You won't even need to print your boarding pass, just scan the QR code.

If you can't check in online, you can check in at the airport without any problems.

Selecting your seat (seating)

You can select your specific seat on the aircraft at the time of ticket purchase or later on the Avianca website for a fee ranging from 4 eur for domestic flights to 30 eur for long-haul flights.

If you don't want to pay for a specific seat, you will be assigned a random seat for free.
