Avianca is the second oldest airline in the world after KLM and one of the largest airlines in Latin America. Headquartered in Bogotá, Colombia, it has established subsidiaries operating under the same name in Peru, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Guatemala, Ecuador, Honduras and Brazil, although the latter retains greater autonomy within the group.
