Air India Express check-in

When and how do I check in for an Air India Express flight? And how much does it cost to choose a particular seat on the plane?
Check-in at the airport
Check-in at the airport counter is free of charge with Air India Express.
The opening and closing times of the counters are as follows:
- 3 hours before departure, the counter opens
- 60 minutes before departure, the counter closes
You can only go through security and passport control at Indian airports when check-in for your flight starts, i.e. no later than 4 hours before an international flight and 3 hours before a domestic flight. You will not be allowed through immigration before then.
Which terminals are used for check-in?
Large Indian and international airports usually have multiple terminals. Air India Express uses the following buildings:
Online check-in
You can check-in online in the comfort of your home from the time you purchase your ticket up to 60 minutes before departure via spicejet.com.
Online check-in is also available via the SpiceJet mobile app (Google Play / App Store), where you enter your booking number and present a QR code on your mobile phone at the airport.
If you are travelling with hand luggage only, you do not need to visit the airport counter at all. Proceed straight to security and passport control.
Selecting a seat (seating)
Do you want a window seat or, on a long flight, do you prefer an aisle seat so you can stretch out undisturbed at any time?
None of the fares include the selection of a specific seat.
A window seat at the rear of the aircraft costs up to 900 inr. A seat with more legroom costs up to 2 000 inr.
If you don't care where you sit, skip the seat selection and the system will assign you a random seat for free.
