Loro Parque

Loro Parque

The most famous attraction of Tenerife is undoubtedly the botanical and zoological garden Loro Parque, located in the town of Puerto de la Cruz. Originally conceived as a zoo for parrots, Loro Parque has evolved over the years into one of the most beautiful and interesting zoological parks in the world.

It boasts, for example, the largest collection of parrots in the world. But parrots aren't the only thing you can admire here.

The park also breeds tigers, jaguars, giant tortoises, gorillas, chimpanzees and other exotic animals. You can see huge aquariums full of underwater animals and plants, a breathtaking penguin exhibit and a 15-metre long underwater tunnel where sharks and rays swim around you.

The cheapest accommodation in Tenerife

The most popular attractions, however, are the unique shows with killer whales, sea lions and dolphins. The shows take place here every day and can be visited as part of the entrance fee to the resort at no extra cost.

Entrance fees and opening hours

Open every day from 8:30 am to 6:45 pm.

Ticketprices are as follows, due to the park's limited capacity, it is always advisable to book online for a specific day (you no longer need to turn up at a specific time) on the park's website:

  • Adult (over 11 years old): 42 eur
  • Child 6-11 years: 30 eur
  • Child under 6 years: free.
  • Official park website: loroparque.com

How to get there

Loro Parque is located in the west of the city of Puerto de la Cruz. The official parking lot at the main entrance has a fee of 4 eur. However, you can park for free on the main street Avenida Loro Parque and at the south entrance along the entire Calle del Galeón.

There is also a bus stop in front of the entrance for bus line 381, which runs from the centre of Puerto de la Cruz.
