The Sunnmøre Open Air Museum is essentially an open-air museum, spread over 120 hectares and featuring 56 original houses.
Many of the buildings are accessible from the inside and their exhibitions offer an insight into life, work and traditions from the Stone Age to the early 20th century.

At the open-air museum you can also see an extensive collection of ships, including replicas of original Viking vessels. During the summer, it is possible to take a ride on a Viking ship.
The Sunnmøre Museum is set in beautiful parkland and you should set aside about 1 hour to visit it.

The site itself is accessible outside of opening hours. Outside opening hours, however, you won't be able to see inside the houses or view the Viking ship exhibit.
