San Blas Beach is the smaller and lesser known sister of the nearby popular Ramla Beach. Like Ramla Beach, it boasts orange-red sand.
The surrounding area is very picturesque, with rocky cliffs and scenic greenery near the beach.
Beach amenities
Count on the fact that San Blas beach is very small, measuring only about 50 metres in length. This is one of the reasons why it can be completely full in the early morning in summer.
However, there is also access to the water from the surrounding stone beaches.
There are showers right on the beach and a refreshment stand where you can also rent a sun lounger and umbrella.
How to get there
San Blas Beach is about 1.5 km north of Nadur and is accessible only by car, except for walking.
Drive to the end of the passable asphalt road where there are about 7 parking spaces. It tends to be full before 9am. Several other parking spaces can be found at various distances along the road.
The last stretch of the road has to be walked (about 200 metres steeply downhill).
The nearest bus stop, Weraq, served by bus line 303 from Victoria and Mgarr Harbour, is 650 metres from the beach. However, a large elevation gain is to be expected.
