The Hiroshima Peace Museum is dedicated to the aftermath of the atomic bombing of the city and presents the tragic events of 1945 in an impressive way.
The museum is located in the Peace Park in the centre of Hiroshima and will take you about 60 minutes to visit.

What will you see at the museum?
The museum is divided into three main sections.
- Hiroshima before the bombing - here you will see period photographs of the city before 1945, as well as photos from the days just after the dropping of the atomic bomb
- Stories of Hiroshima residents - the most emotional part of the museum with many personal stories, photos of the injured and an exhibition of their personal belongings
- The dangers of nuclear weapons - the last section focuses on the development and risks of atomic weapons
Admission and opening hours
The museum is open every day from 7:30 am.
Closing time varies according to the season and is between 18:00 and 20:00, see the official website: hpmmuseum.jp.
The ticket price is 200 jpy and you can pay by card or cash.
