Denmark may not be associated with beach holidays, after all, there are few warm summer days in Scandinavia and the North Sea doesn't even manage to warm up completely over the summer.

Even so, in Copenhagen, visit the beautiful Amager Strandpark, a beach area with natural grassy dunes, sandy beaches and relaxing paths for walkers and cyclists.
Free toilets at several locations complement the benches and paths.
Take a dip in the pools
At the northern end of Amger Strand, you'll come across a wooden pier with several enclosed natural seawater pools, changing rooms and restrooms.
Here you can bathe comfortably and safely in the sea water. The bottom is artificially dredged so that swimming is possible, unlike natural beaches where the water is barely waist-deep up to hundreds of metres from the shore.
However, be aware that even on summer days, the sea water is at a maximum of around 18°C.
Kayak, kitesurf or mini golf
The southern part of Amager Stand is dedicated to leisure sports activities. Landlubbers will enjoy the miniature golf course, while water activities can be enjoyed in the form of kitesurf or sea kayak rentals.
There are also several cafés and bistros in this southern part.
How to get to Amager Strand?
The quickest way from the centre is to take the M2 metro line towards Copenhagen Airport. The nearest station is Øresund , about 500 metres from the northern part of the beach, while Amager Strand is about 700 metres away.
