The modern building is located on Holmen Island opposite the historic centre.

Inside the building there is a large opera hall with a capacity of 1,700 seats and 5 other smaller halls. In addition to opera, ballet and occasionally drama are performed here.

Tours of the building

On average, tours of the new opera house are given 3-4 times a week at irregular intervals and times in English, and more often in Danish.

The tour takes about 1.5 hours and costs 150 dkk.

Online booking in advance is required and can be made on the official website: kglteater.dk/en

If you would like to go directly to the performance, you can also find the current programme on the official website: kglteater.dk/en/shows

How to get to the opera?

Right next to the building is the Operaen wharf, where the 991 and 992 boat lines stop. North of the entrance you will also find the Opera bus stop of the 2A line.
