The Albertina Building

The Albertina Gallery is located in the centre of Vienna and is part of the Hofburg Palace complex.

The building itself dates back to the early 18th century and by the middle of the 18th century it was a residence for the Governor of the Austrian Netherlands. Since 1794 the building has been owned by Duke Albert of Saxe-Teschen, after whom it is also named, and since then it has been gradually transformed into a gallery.

In addition to the magnificent works of art, you can also admire the sumptuous chambers in which the works are displayed in the Albertina.
