Attractions in Luna Park
Luna Park in St. Kilda was established in 1912 and is one of the oldest in Australia.
Most of the attractions have been kept in their original form, just significantly modernised. Again, don't expect a giant theme park, but rather a smaller area with roller coasters, many rides and stalls with various small attractions.
A visit to Luna Park is about 2-3 hours and definitely not a whole day.
Admission and opening hours
The price of the entrance ticket is the same for everyone, i.e. children and adults, and is 25 aud for the whole day.
The price includes one ride on the roller coaster or one use of any game or attraction.
You can also purchase tickets with unlimited use of any attraction for 45 aud.
For full details and online purchase options visit the official website: lunapark.com.au/ticket-information.
Opening hours vary greatly by season and specific days of the week (some months are closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, for example) and a detailed schedule can be found here: lunapark.com.au/opening-hours.
Palais Theatre
Australia's largest indoor theatre building with a capacity of 3,000 spectators is located next to Luna Park.
The theatre opened in 1927 and still serves its original purpose.
