The departure area is divided into a section for flights within Norway and the Schengen area and a section for flights outside the Schengen area, which are minimal.

Connections between flights

Tromso is a major regional hub and the most frequent transfer point for flights to the smaller airports in northern Norway.

If you are checking in for a subsequent flight, you do not leave the transit zone after arriving from Norway and continuing on to another Norwegian destination after you get off the plane. There is no security check and the real transfer time is about 5 minutes.

Upon arrival from an international destination, including flights from the Schengen area, you must collect your luggage, leave the transit area and go through security to the domestic section. The real transfer time will be approximately 20-30 minutes.
