From the airport, you can take advantage of taxi or shuttle bus services. There is a kiosk in the arrivals hall where you can buy a shuttle (taxi or shared shuttle bus) at pre-set prices.
Shuttle Bus
Shuttle buses run in the form of minivans or vans and you pay for your ticket at the kiosk in the arrivals hall. Shuttle buses usually start their journey when they fill up with passengers. You can therefore wait up to an hour.
You can book the shuttle bus at your accommodation on the way to the airport.
The price to the town of Semporna near the archipelago of the same name is around 30 myr.
Taxi / Grab
There are always plenty of official green and white taxis waiting outside the terminal at all hours of the day and night.
In the area around Tawau town, the mobile app Grab also presents a very well working option, which is usually cheaper than regular taxis.
