The airport is well connected to public transport (S-Bahn and U-Bahn trains), regional buses to all surrounding municipalities, as well as long-distance buses (especially Flixbus).
Faster transport is provided by the S2, S3 train lines, which take you to the city centre to the main station in 25 minutes.
Metro (sometimes referred to as tram) line U6 takes 32 minutes to the main station.

A single ticket is valid for a maximum of 3 hours for a one-way journey.
A full day ticket is always valid on a given calendar day but extends until 7:00 am the following day.
A group day ticket is valid for up to 5 people.

S-Bahn S2, S3
Suburban rail is the fastest and most convenient.
The S2 and S3 lines go to the main station and get off at the "Stadtmitte" station directly into the historic centre.

U-Bahn U6
Stuttgart also has a subway, which is more like a tram, and the U6 line goes all the way to the airport.
The journey to the main station is about 7 minutes longer than the S-Bahn trains, but takes a different route through the eastern part of the centre.
