Bus to New York

All regular international routes are joined by Stewart Airport Express buses, operated by Megabus. Unfortunately, Allegiant Air does not connect to domestic routes.

In New York, they stop at the main Port Authority bus station in midtown Manhattan, where you can transfer to many subway lines.

Tickets for 25 usd book online at megabus.com. However, tickets can also be purchased in the arrivals hall (payment is possible with card or cash).

Buses always leave 50 minutes after the arrival of the international line. However, in case of delays, the bus will wait. In the opposite direction, buses arrive at the airport approximately 3 hours before departure.

  • Travel time - 90 minutes
  • Price - 25 usd
  • Frequency - connection to all international routes (currently 1-2 times a day)

Bus + train

A shuttle bus to Beacon railway station, 10 miles away, offers an alternative connection to the domestic services.

Shuttle bus to the train station

The shuttle bus runs Monday to Friday only and is operated by "Leprechaun Lines".

The bus does not run on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.

The connection from the airport is irregular and corresponds to flight traffic. For the current timetable, please visit the official website of the carrier: leprechaunlines.com/stewart-newburgh-beacon-shuttle.

Ticket costs 1 usd and is payable in cash to the driver.

The journey from the airport to the station takes approximately 40 minutes.

Train Metro-North

Metro-North trains run from Beacon Station to New York City, terminating at Grand Central Station right in Manhattan.

Beacon Station is on the New York to Poughkeepsie route, which is operated by the Green Hudson Line.

Trains run about once an hour and the trip to New York City takes 60 to 90 minutes, depending on the number of stops along the route.

A ticket for 24 usd (across 8 zones) can be purchased from a machine at the station, where you can pay with cash or card.

Car rental

If you're traveling only to New York, use only public transportation, which works great in the city. A car would be a liability.

However, if you want to go somewhere other than New York from Stewart Airport, renting a car will already be a very convenient option. Long-distance passenger transport in the US doesn't work very well and is very expensive.

Weekly rental prices start at 300 usd.

Taxi

Due to the distance of the airport from New York, we do not recommend travelling by taxi due to the very high price.

A taxi ride to Manhattan from Stewart Airport costs approximately 275 usd.
