Transportation from Skellefteå Airport

Skelleftea

Most tourists rent a car at the terminal and set off on a road-trip around Sweden. If you're just heading to Skellefteå, you can also take a special airport bus for 100 Swedish crowns.

Car rental

The terminal is home to several car rental companies such as Europcar, Avis and Mabi.

Prices for weekly rentals in the summer season start at around 320 eur and due to the limited capacity of car rental companies, we recommend booking a car well in advance (at least 1-2 months before your trip).

Bus

The special "Flygbussen" bus service connects to all regular SAS and Ryanair flights. The bus timetable is updated every season according to the Skellefteå Airport flight schedule.

The bus stops at several places in the city centre and goes as far as the industrial area of Northvolt North.

  • Departs from the Scandic Hotel in the centre - always 95 minutes before departure
  • Departure from the airport to the centre - always 15-20 minutes after arrival (in case of flight delays, the bus waits)

The airport is very small, so even if you travel with checked luggage, 15 minutes is plenty.

Similarly, arriving at the airport roughly 75 minutes before departure, which is usually the arrival time of the bus from the centre, is also enough.

The ticket price is 100 sek and can only be paid by credit card directly with the bus driver.

Detailed information and a list of stops can be found on the official website: skebuss.se/flygbussen.

Taxi

There are always taxis waiting at the airport, which run according to the meter on the way to the centre. The price to the centre is around 600 sek.

Uber also operates in the city, but the waiting time can be more than 35 minutes.
