The small Skellefteå Airport is located 19 km south of the town of the same name in northern Sweden. The airport serves mainly business travellers, as Skellefteå is a fairly important industrial town.
With numerous flights from Stockholm, but also occasional flights from other destinations (such as Gdansk, where Ryanair flies), the airport can also serve as a starting point for tourist trips.
Over 95% of all flights are to Stockholm's Arlanda or Bromma airports, with up to 7 flights a day.
The only terminal common to all flights is rather the size of a supermarket and can be crossed in a 2-minute walk. Security checks tend to be quick and hassle-free.
