Transfer at Siem Reap Angkor Airport

Angkor Wat

Siem Reap-Angkor uses one terminal common to all departures and arrivals.

International departures are on the 1st floor, while the ground floor houses domestic departures and all arrivals.

The building dates back to 2023 and is modern and very spacious. Clear signage guides you to the departure gates through immigration and security within 15 minutes.

Immigration check on arrival

Except for Southeast Asian countries, most travelers to Cambodia need a visa.

You can arrange your visa in advance through the official website evisa.gov.kh. This avoids a visit to a special visa issuing counter on arrival and allows you to head straight to a quick passport check. You will usually save yourself a 10-30 minute wait.

However, electronic visas are more expensive than a visa on arrival. They cost 35 usd + 7 usd administrative fee.

Arrival visas cost 30 usd and are processed before passport control. You must pay cash in US dollars. Please note that there is no ATM outside immigration control, only a currency exchange office with a rather unfavorable exchange rate. It is therefore better to arrive in Cambodia with cash already exchanged.

Transfer between flights

Siem Reap airport is not a typical transfer hub and therefore does not have a direct transfer option without leaving the transit zone.

You will therefore always have to go through immigration control, check in again and go through security and passport control back to the departure gate.

The transfer can take up to 90 minutes.
