Getting from Sharjah Airport

The terminal is connected to several bus routes to Sharjah and Dubai. You can also make use of the car rental branches.

Car rental

Want to take a trip not only to Dubai, but also to the desert, the mountains and to explore the beaches of the Persian Gulf? In that case, a car will be the most suitable way of travel.

In Sharjah you can use Europcar, Budget, Dollar, Thrifty or Goldcar car rental companies. Avoid Goldcar rental companies with very bad reviews.

Weekly rental rates start in high season at 190 eur.

Bus to Sharjah

Several bus lines stop outside the terminal, running to Rolla bus station in the centre of Sharjah. Some of the lines also stop at Al Jubail Bus Station, where you can transfer to intercity services to Dubai.

All routes have an interval of 60-90 minutes, so as a result you can get from the airport to the centre of Sharjah on average 3-5 times per hour.

  • Line 14 - Al Jubail i Rolla, journey time 30 minutes
  • Line 15 - Rolla, journey time 40 minutes
  • Line 88x - Al Jubail i Rolla, journey time 25 minutes
  • Line 88 - Rolla, journey time 25 minutes
  • Line 99 - Al Jubail i Rolla, journey time 30 minutes

All lines run from approximately 6:00 to 22:30.

Tickets are always purchased from the driver and in cash only. One ride costs 8 aed.

In case you want to travel more in Sharjah city, purchase a Sayer card from the driver for 50 aed. The fee for the card is 5 aed, you can already use the remaining 45 aed as fare.

One ride with the Sayer card works out to 6 aed.

Bus to Dubai

There are currently no direct Air Arabia buses between Sharjah Airport and Dubai.

From the airport, first take local bus routes 14, 88x or 99 to Al Jubail bus station (about 30 minutes away). You can buy a ticket from the driver for 8 aed and find timetables on the mowasalat.ae website.

From Al Jubail bus station in the centre of Sharjah, there are 4 RTA bus routes to Dubai. For timetables, visit rta.ae.

The ticket price is the same on all routes and is 15 aed.

  • E303, E303A - terminates at Union Square in Downtown Dubai (transfer to both the Green and Red Metro lines)
    • Frequency 10-15 minutes
    • Travel time 50 minutes
  • E304 - terminates at Satwa Bus Station
    • Frequency 60 minutes
    • Travel time 60 minutes
  • E306 - terminates at Al Ghubaiba Bus Terminal in Downtown Dubai (transfer to Green Metro Line)
    • Frequency 20 minutes
    • Travel time 60 minutes
  • E307 - terminates at Deira City Bus Station in Downtown Dubai (transfer to Red Metro Line)
    • Frequency 12-15 minutes
    • Travel time 45 minutes
  • E307A - terminates at Abu Hail (transfer to Green Metro Line)
    • Frequency 20 minutes
    • Travel time 45 minutes

Taxi

There are plenty of taxis waiting outside the terminal at all hours of the day and night. They are strictly based on the taxi meter, plus an airport surcharge of 20 aed.

Approximate taxi prices are as follows:

  • Dubai, Deira City - 117 aed
  • Dubai DXB Airport - 105 aed
  • Dubai Mall, Burj Khalifa - 130 aed
  • Dubai Marina - 180 aed
  • Ajman Beaches - 92 aed
  • Sharjah Centre - 85 aed

In addition to regular taxis, the Uber app is also very popular in Sharjah and can offer prices up to 20% lower than taxis at certain times (especially during the day).

Bus to Ras al Khaimah or Al Ain

Direct buses from the airport to both Ras al Kahimah and Al Ain are operated by Air Arabia's special express buses.

  • Ras al Khaimah - 3x daily, price 30 aed
  • Al Ain - 2x daily, price 30 aed
