Sharjah Airport is served by one terminal common to all flights. The airport is relatively small and very well laid out.
The check-in desks and arrivals hall are on the ground floor, while the security checkpoint and transit area are on the 1st floor.
After security and passport control, you will find yourself in a large lobby with many restaurants and shops. Then there is a long corridor with boarding bridges to the planes, where you won't get much service.
Transfer between flights
Air Arabia offers many guaranteed connecting flights via Sharjah Airport.
The transfer is very clearly signposted and, thanks to the small size of the terminal, quick. You can realistically transfer from one plane to another in about 15 to 30 minutes.
If you have purchased a transfer as part of a single ticket, your luggage will be transferred automatically. Follow the "Transfer" signs and go straight to the connecting departure gate.
With a guaranteed transfer, you do not leave the transit area and do not go through passport control. Therefore, no visa is required for the United Arab Emirates.
Good afternoon,
I wanted to ask what happens if I have a connecting flight that takes 15 hours? Is it not possible to leave the airport?
It's possible, no problem.
Thank you very much for your reply. I have one more question about the luggage, will it have to be collected and re-submitted ?
You'll have to arrange that at departure.
