There are no buses or other forms of public transport to Las Américas Airport Terminal.
You can only use taxis, Uber or car rental companies.
Car rental
Hire a car if you're heading straight from the airport on a road-trip around the Dominican Republic.
The terminal is home to a large number of well-known international rental companies. Prices for a week in high season are around 270 usd per week.

The car rental counters are right in the arrivals hall.
If you're heading to downtown Santo Domingo from the airport, we don't recommend renting a car too much due to the very dense and unclear traffic in the city.
Taxi
There is an official taxi rank at the main exit of the arrivals hall, and there are plenty of taxis at the airport at all hours of the day or night.
Unofficial taxi drivers may also try to approach you in the arrivals hall, but will usually offer less favourable prices.
Official taxis have a flat rate to the whole of Santo Domingo of 30 usd. Taxi drivers commonly accept payment in US dollars, or even prefer it. Payment can only be made in cash.
Uber
The Uber mobile app works well in Santo Domingo, and will usually offer a lower rate than regular taxis.
The average price to downtown Santo Domingo is around 1 280 dop, which is roughly 22 usd.
When choosing a payment method, we recommend choosing cash. Uber driver in the Dominican Republic often refuse rides with card payment.

Public transportation
The nearest public transport in the form of buses or minibuses runs along the main road about 3 km from the airport. The buses do not have an exact timetable and usually run once every 10 to 30 minutes.
At this point you can board buses running from the bus stop in the eastern part of the city (see map) to Boca Chica.
The buses do not have marked stops. On your way to the centre, just stand on the side of the highway and wave to the passing bus. However, it often doesn't stop because it is crowded.
Fares cost 75 dop and are paid in cash to the conductor.
This form of public transport is only suitable for big enthusiasts who don't travel with large luggage, have plenty of time and don't mind the 3km walk from the terminal to the bus route.
