Amilcar Cabral Airport is the most important airport in Cape Verde and is located on the island of Sal near the popular tourist resort of Santa Maria (18 km).
Most charter flights to Cape Verde land at Sal airport. There are regular flights from here to Portugal, Morocco, the Canaries and, of course, domestic flights to other Cape Verdean islands.
The only terminal is small and rather outdated, but it's clean everywhere, making it a standard tourist airport. Orientation here is very easy as the terminal has only one level common to all flights.
The cheapest tickets to Sal are normally purchased with a connection in Lisbon via TAP Air Portugal.
