The popular holiday airport is located 4 km from the centre of the summer resort of Puerto Vallarta on Mexico's Pacific coast. Tourist resorts are located in close proximity to the airport.
The airport is medium-sized and handles an average of 5-6 flights per hour. Most of the scheduled flights are to major airports in the USA, Mexico City, Guadalajara and other domestic destinations in Mexico.
There are also a large number of seasonal flights from Canada, but direct flights mainly aimed at tourists travelling to beaches and ocean bathing also operate from London or Prague.
