Gregorio Luperón International Airport is located on the north coast of the Dominican Republic near the resort of Puerto Plata (approx. 20 km).
The vast majority of traffic is handled by holiday flights from the USA, but there are also many direct seasonal charters from Europe.
Unlike the largest Dominican airport Punta Cana PUJairport, which serves mainly travellers heading to the coastal resorts, Puerto Plata airport has rugged mountain scenery in its surroundings and is a good starting point for road-trips in the Dominican Republic.
