Transfer at Newcastle Airport

Newcastle

Passengers will only use one terminal at Newcastle Airport, common to all flights. The airport building is very small and often overcrowded.

There is a severe shortage of seating after security and there are hardly any seats in the public area.

Passport control on arrival can take upwards of 45 minutes, whereas security checks before departure tend to be more organised and you'll usually spend 15-20 minutes in line.

Transfer between flights

Newcastle is not primarily a transfer point and therefore the airport does not have the option of a direct transfer without leaving the transit zone at all.

You always have to go through passport control, walk out, cross between the arrival and departure halls and check in again.

If you plan to transfer on your own in Newcastle, allow approximately 60 minutes net transfer time from arrival to departure gate.
