The terminal is located 10 km from Málaga city centre and is connected to the public bus network, long-distance lines and the suburban train.

C1 train
Directly at the airport is the stop of the C1 suburban railway line, which is the fastest transport to the centre of Málaga or nearby resorts. Trains run once every 20 minutes during the day, once every 30 minutes in the evening and at weekends. The first services leave around 5am, the last around midnight.
Tickets can be bought from a ticket machine or you can pay the fare by simply using your own credit card at the turnstile when entering and leaving the station.
From the airport you can use the train to the following destinations:
- Málaga-Centro Alameda (terminus near the centre of Málaga): the journey takes 12 minutes and costs 1,80 eur
- Málaga-Maria Zambrano (station for long-distance trains and buses): the journey takes 8 minutes and costs 1,80 eur
- Torremolinos: the journey takes 10 minutes and costs 1,80 eur
- Benalmádena: the journey takes 17 minutes and costs 2,05 eur
- Fuengirola: the journey takes 34 minutes and stands 2,70 eur
Bus to Málaga
There is an express bus line A to Malaga city centre, which you can also use for trips to the west of the city.
The ticket costs 4 eur (you can pay at the driver or at the ticket office at the exit of the terminal), departs every quarter of an hour and takes 30 minutes to get to the centre.

Buses on the Costa del Sol
The bus company Avanzabus operates direct routes from the airport along the coast. It is preferable to use the train to Torremolinos, Benalmádena and Fuengirola, and these buses to points further afield. Ideally, buy tickets online at the Avanzabus website.
- Marbella - about 2 times per hour, price around 6,50 eur
- Estepona - about 1x per hour, price around 9 eur
- La Línea (Gibraltar) - about 3 times a day, price around 14 eur
Alsa's long-distance buses also stop outside the terminal, detailed timetables and ticketing options can be found on the company's website. You can use Alsa's buses from the airport to get to Granada, for example, where there are several connections a day.
Car rental
If Málaga Airport serves as your starting point for travelling around the Andalusian hinterland or hopping around lesser-known resorts, then hiring a car is definitely your best option. There are dozens of car rental companies at the airport, whose prices can be compared and then booked at, for example, the website booking.com.
