The iconic airport for all transport aircraft enthusiasts is located on the former Thames Docks near central London and the City's financial district.
The runway is shorter than usual and the approach manoeuvre takes place near high-rise and residential developments, so only smaller aircraft up to about 100 people in size can land at the airport.
London-City has a single small terminal which, because of its popularity with business travellers, is designed to keep the check-in process as short as possible.
The airport's opening hours are 5:30am to 10:00pm on weekdays, 5:30am to 1:00pm on Saturdays and 11:00am to 10:20pm on Sundays.
