Public transport provides shuttle buses for Rs 40,000 to the nearby Halim High Speed Rail station, from where you can take the LRT to the city centre.
However, the public transport journey from central Jakarta to Halim Airport is lengthy and actually as expensive as a taxi.
Grab / Gojek / Taxi
We recommend travelling to Halim Airport by taxi.
The most convenient option is to use the Grab or Gojek mobile apps, where you can see the price in advance and it is automatically charged to the card you enter into the app.
If you don't have the app, you can book your car at the counter in the arrivals hall.
Prices are dynamic and are calculated according to current demand.
Normally, to the downtown area around the Monas Monument you will pay about 60 000 idr - 70 000 idr.
Book a hotel in downtown Jakarta now
The ride takes 60-80 minutes depending on current traffic.
Regular taxis run by meter and the price is usually higher than Grab/Gojek apps. To get downtown you will pay between 100,000 and 120 000 idr.
Shuttle bus to Halim station
Directly outside the arrival hall is the shuttle bus stop, which will take you to the station of the express bus that runs to Bandung.
The bus stops at the station on the north side of the building.
- Price - 40 000 idr
- Frequency - 40 minutes
- Travel time - 20 minutes
From Halim Station, you can continue to the centre by taking the LRT (Green Line) overground. Dukuh Atas station can be reached in about another 25 minutes.
The fare from Halim station to Dukuh Atas is 12 700 idr, so overall you will pay about the same as for Grab or Gojek and the total travel time will be similarly long due to the relatively far transfer between bus and metro at Halim station.
DAMRI buses
DAMRI minibuses also have a station outside the arrivals hall, but they don't go into central Jakarta.
About once an hour, DAMRI runs two routes from Halim Airport to Bogor or Bekasi.
TransJakarta buses
There are no TransJakarta buses running directly to the terminal.
If you have no luggage (at most a small backpack) and are of a more adventurous nature, you can walk about 250 meters from the arrivals hall down a small alley to the left to the bus stop "Sbr. Gg. Pos Komodor".
Very small minibuses with extremely cramped space inside stop here.
Only the JAK20 line running to the Cawang Sentral transfer terminal is usable, where you can transfer to the large buses of the BRT system. In the direction of the eastern part of the city centre, lines 5C and 5D can be used.
The total fare to downtown is 7 000 idr, but fares can only be paid with electronic transport cards, which are not available for purchase anywhere at Halim Airport.
