Xiashoan Airport is one of the largest transport hubs in Asia, especially for domestic flights within China.
The airport site is located 31 km east of the centre of the historic city of Hangzhou and 180 km south of Shanghai.
Loong Air has its main base at the airport and China Eastern Airlines, Air China, Beijing Capital Airlines and Xiamen Air also have major hubs here.
The vast majority of flights are to Chinese destinations. Direct international routes go to Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Tokyo, Osaka, Dubai, Seoul, Singapore, Auckland, Sydney and Rome.
