The only scheduled airport in the German state of Thuringia, it is about 6 km from the centre of Erfurt and 40 km from Weimar.
Currently, only holiday flights depart from Erfurt. During the summer, the airport sees 2-3 flights a day, mainly to Turkey or Greece. In winter, there are 2-3 connections a week, mainly to Egypt and in some seasons also to the Canary Islands.
The majority of passengers are travel agency clients, however, individual tickets can be purchased for most flights.

The single terminal is sized to match the traffic and is very small and compact. Arrivals and check-in desks are on the ground floor, while security and the transit area are on the 1st floor.
You only need to arrive at the airport 75-90 minutes before departure.
