Transportation from Ercan Airport

North Cyprus

Ercan Airport is only accessible by road, both by regular bus routes and by taxi.

Car rental

If you want to explore Northern Cyprus properly, even with the not-so-clear public transport, hiring a car is definitely the best option.

There are two local car rental companies at Ercan Airport, Pacific and Trip. Weekly rental rates are around 200 eur year-round.

Kibhas buses

Connections to Lefkosa and other Northern Cyprus towns are provided by the Kibhas bus company. There are direct connections to the following towns:

  • Lefkosa (12 times a day, about once every 60-120 minutes from 4:30 to 23:15, price 175,50 try),
  • Girne/Kyrenia (12 times a day, about once every 60-120 minutes from 3:50 to 22:45, price 234 try),
  • Magusa/Famagusta (12 times a day, about once every 60-120 minutes from 4:30 to 22:00, price 234 try),
  • Lefke (8 times a day, irregular interval, price 265,50 try),
  • Limited information on timetables can be found on the Kibhas website.

Tickets can only be paid by credit or debit card, not cash.

Taxi

There are a large number of taxis waiting at the airport at all hours of the day and night. Taxi drivers prefer to accept Euros rather than Turkish Lira and approximate prices are as follows:

  • Nicosia city centre - 40 eur
  • Kyrenia - 50 eur
  • Famagusta - 60 eur
