Getting from Canberra Airport

Canberra Airport is not connected to rail or trams, but Transport Canberra buses provide quick access to the city centre.
Car hire, taxis and the Uber mobile app are also available.
Public transport - buses
The city bus stop is right outside the arrivals terminal.
The airport is served by the R3 bus service, which runs past the iconic Anzac Parade to the transfer station "City Interchange" in the city centre and continues on to the north-western suburbs.

Fare prices are as follows:
- 9,89 aud - All-day ticket on weekdays ("daily cap")
- 6,05 aud - all-day ticket on weekends and public holidays ("daily cap")

- 3,32 aud - single ticket for 90 minutes, Peak (on weekdays before 9:00 and between 16:30 and 18:00)
- Current fares: transport.act.gov.au/fares
Attach your own card to the validator inside the bus after boarding and before alighting.
See the Canberra guide for details.
Hire a car
Canberra is a good base for road-trips in the Australian Alps, including a trip to Australia's highest mountain, Mount Kosciuszko.
Car rental prices depend on availability and season and we recommend booking your car 2-3 months in advance.
The average price for a compact car for 7 days is around 450 aud.

All car rental counters can be found immediately outside the terminal to the left of the gate.
Taxi / Uber
The taxi rank is right outside the terminal. Taxis can always be paid by card.
The Uber mobile app car stand is on the ground floor of the parking garage to the right of the terminal (approx. 2 minute walk) and is marked as Express Pick-Up. Uber often has significantly lower prices than regular taxis, which run strictly by meter.
Expect the following prices for a trip downtown, depending on current demand or traffic:
- Taxi - 27 aud
- Uber - 25 aud
The journey time to the city centre is about 15 minutes.
