Bus 61 to the centre

The centre of Bratislava can be reached by a single bus line operated by the Bratislava Transport Company.

Tickets are the same for all bus, tram and trolleybus lines throughout the city. The airport is not located in any special fare zone.

You have the option to buy paper tickets from a machine inside the terminal (they also accept cards) or at the bus stop (they only accept coins). A cheaper alternative is to buy tickets via the IDS BK mobile app (available on Google Play / App Store) after registration.

The fares are as follows:

Time validity Paper ticket price Price via mobile app
Transfer for 30 minutes (sufficient for the main station) 1,10 eur 0,97 eur
Transfer for 60 minutes 1,60 eur 1,41 eur
24 hours 4,80 eur 4,40 eur

The last option is to pay by card directly on the bus at the yellow mini-automatic. You can purchase a 45-minute transfer ticket for only 1,20 eur. However, only 1 transfer can be made, during which you again have to put your card to the validator (no more money is deducted).

For complete information on tickets, visit the official website of the Bratislava Transport Company: dpb.sk.

The following bus lines run to the airport:

  • Route 61 (timetable: imhd.sk/linka/61): it goes via Trnavské Mýto to the main railway station, where it arrives in about 25 minutes. Departures are every 7 to 20 minutes, the first connection to the airport leaves at 4:45 and the last one leaves at 23:35
  • Night line N61 (timetable: imhd.sk/linka/N61): goes to the bus and train stations. Departs once an hour.

To get to the bus station during the day, take line 61 to the "Bajkalská" stop, where you change to trolleybus 60 and take it to the "Autobusová stanica" stop. The journey will take about 40 minutes and you will pay 1 eur for a card payment inside the bus or 1,30 eur for a paper ticket or 1,18 eur on the mobile app.

Taxi / Bolt / Uber

The price of regular taxis to the city centre is between 10 eur and 15 eur.

Almost always the alternative taxi services Bolt or Uber are cheaper, which cost around 7 eur on the way to the main station.

Bus to Vienna

Thanks to its proximity to the Austrian capital, Bratislava Airport can also serve as an alternative to Vienna.

Buses run directly from the terminal to the centre of Vienna without changing buses.

The Flixbus service runs approximately once an hour. The journey to Vienna takes about 105 minutes and costs from 10 eur.
