For early morning departures or overnight transfers, we definitely recommend the Ibis Budget Hotel, which is a 10-minute walk down the sidewalk from the terminals. The price for a double room is around 99 eur per night. More distant hotels may be about 18 eur cheaper, but many do not offer a free shuttle. So you have to use the special Yellow Bus service(details) that goes around the hotels around the airport, but you pay 6 nzd for a one-way ticket (you can also pay by card - at the vending machine on the way from the airport, at the reception on the way from the hotel).
