Esenboga Airport is located about 30 km north of the Turkish capital Ankara and is an important regional hub.
Ankara is home to the low-cost arm of Turkish Airlines, AJet. Pegasus Airlines also has a significant base here.
Although Ankara Airport is relatively important, it has no direct long-haul routes and the majority of its traffic consists of very frequent domestic routes - mainly to Turkey's largest airports Istanbul IST and Istanbul-Sabiha Gökcen SAW - as well as many direct routes to Western Europe and the Middle East.
