Shops and supermarket

Adelaide Airport is relatively well equipped with shops of all kinds. Travellers are most often looking for packaged food stores or perhaps pharmacies and drug stores.

Grocery

There are only small minimarkets in the terminals selling sandwiches, salads, drinks etc.

  • WHSmith - several locations in the public and transit areas, including the arrivals hall (open 5:30-20:00)

Pharmacies and drugstores

  • Airport Pharmacy - after security check, domestic section (7:00-20:30)

After security there is a very wide range of shopping options with duty free shops, as well as shops selling fashion, travel gear, jewellery and many other items.

For a list of all the shops visit the airport website: adelaideairport.com.au/shopping.

Dining options

Restaurants, fast-food outlets and cafes are plentiful in the public and transit areas. However, there is a significantly greater choice after security.

There are more expensive restaurants, small cafes and well-known fast-food outlets such as McDonald's, KFC and Subway.

Most establishments open around 5:00 and close around 20:00, but some are open from 4:00

A list of all restaurants can be found on the airport website: adelaideairport.com.au/eat.

ATMs and money changers

The usual exchange offices are run by Prosegur Exchange or Travelex with very unfavourable rates.

Also, all ATMs are operated by Travelex with high withdrawal fees.

You can use a card to pay for almost everything in Australia, even outside the big cities, see our guide to Money and Prices in Australia.

Drinking water

Drinking water fountains are dotted around the security checkpoint, from which you can fill your own bottle for free.
