Baggage on Trans Maldivian Airways is always included in the price. You just need to pay attention to the weight allowance as seaplane capacity is limited.

Hand luggage

Hand luggage is not specified in terms of dimensions, but the internationally recommended standard is 55 x 40 x 25 cm. The only weight limit is 5 kg per piece.

From personal experience, however, we know that the number and size are not very important.

Checked baggage

Each passenger is entitled to 20 kg for checked baggage. Number and size are not considered.

If you are travelling in a group, then the weights are added together and the result is that you need to fit within the limit of 25 kg per passenger (20 kg checked-in + 5 kg carry-on).

All luggage is weighed at check-in.

Any excess weight will be charged 5 usd per 1 kg.

Possible complications

It is very often the case that a flight is full and it is not possible to check in all luggage.

In this case, you will be informed by the staff and given the opportunity to collect essential items or clothing from your suitcase.

Your luggage will then be delivered on the next available flight. This means the same day or the following day.

We personally had our luggage arrive at the resort 2 hours after we arrived.

Children and strollers

Children under the age of 2 are not entitled to the checked-in or carry-on baggage weight limit, but stroller transportation is free of charge.

Children over the age of 2 years are classically limited to 25 kg.
