You can check in for a flight with Malaysia Airlines for free at the airport counter, but you can also check in faster via kiosks or from the comfort of your home via your computer or phone.

Check-in at the airport

Check-in at the airport is always free.

The check-in counter usually opens 4 hours before a long-haul flight and 2-3 hours before a local flight.

The closing time of the counter is usually 60 minutes before departure.

Online check-in

Online check-in is available 48 hours - 90 minutes before departure.

You can print your boarding pass either at home or at an automated kiosk at the airport.

Alternatively, have your boardingpass sent to your mobile phone, then just scan the barcode at check-in. If you are travelling with luggage, you can drop it off at the express baggage drop-off counter.

You can also easily check-in online via the Malaysia Airlines mobile app (available on Google Play / App Store).

Seat selection

There is a charge for selecting a specific seat on the aircraft.

The amounts vary according to the length of the flight and range between 10 myr and 75 myr.

If you don't want to pay for seat selection, skip this option and you will be assigned a random seat for free.
