Lion Air allows the free carriage of checked baggage up to 20 kg plus a small carry-on bag of 40 x 30 x 20 cm on all its routes on all fares.

Different conditions apply for the subsidiary airline Wings Air.

Hand baggage

Lion Air has a fairly strict baggage policy and passengers are only allowed to take 1 small cabin bag on board.

The dimensions must not exceed 40x30x20 cm and the weight must be under 7 kg.

No extra luggage is allowed, not even a handbag or laptop bag.

Checked baggage

All passengers may take free checked baggage up to 20 kg.

Exceptions are flights to destinations in the Moluccas (Ambon, Ternate) and Papua (Jayapura, Sorong) where the maximum weight allowed is 15 kg.

Up to 6 hours prior to departure, you can purchase additional kilograms of checked baggage at lionair.co.id/prepaid-baggage.

Prices vary depending on the specific route and the number of kilograms selected and range from 20 000 idr for 5 kg extra to 80 000 idr for 20 kg extra.
