Hainan Airlines always allows at least 1 piece of checked baggage and 2 pieces of hand luggage.

Hand baggage

Economy Class passengers can carry 2 carry-on bags - a standard bag and a smaller personal item - free of charge.

• 55 x 40 x 20 cm for domestic flights
• The sum of the dimensions must not exceed 115 cm for international flights

The smaller personal item must have a maximum size of 30 x 30 x 20 cm on all flights.

The combined weight of the two pieces of luggage must not exceed 10 kg on international flights or up to 7 kg on domestic flights.

Checked baggage

Free checked baggage is included on all fares.

• International flights (except special routes, see below) - 1 piece of baggage up to 23 kg
• International flights to/from America, Egypt and Australia - 2 pieces of luggage of 23 kg each
• Domestic flights within China - 1 piece of baggage up to 20 kg

If you are continuing from an international flight to a domestic China flight (if the flights are on the same booking), the international limit always applies for the entire journey, including the domestic sector.

Overweight charges

If you arrive at the airport with luggage that exceeds the limits, you will never avoid the added excess baggage fee.

The amounts below apply to international flights.

• 1 extra piece of baggage up to 23 kg
  • from 90 eur
• Overweight 23 kg to 28 kg (a flat amount applies regardless of whether you exceed by 1 kg or 9 kg)
  • from 60 eur
• Overweight 28 kg to 32 kg (a flat amount applies whether you exceed by 1 kg or 9 kg)
  • from 125 eur
