What services can I expect during my flight and transfer with Air India?

Refreshments on board

In-flight refreshments are served free of charge. There is a choice of hot Western and Indian cuisine. Indian cuisine is also a vegetarian option. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are available.

For long-haul flights over 7 hours, you will always get two meals.

• 1 full hot meal
• 1 breakfast or a cold dinner if the flight departs or lands during the night hours

On ultra-long-haul flights to Northern and Australia you will get 2 meals plus a small snack.

In business class, the service is significantly richer. We tried four business class flights in 2025 and wrote a review.

Entertainment system

The so-called In-Flight Entertainment will keep you entertained even on flights longer than 10 hours. The in-flight entertainment system includes Western movie releases and Bollywood cinema.

The on-board system is completely free of charge.

Screens are located in every seat on all aircraft (except some Airbus A32S aircraft), even on shorter flights to India or the Middle East.

In-flight wi-fi

Air India is offering free in-flight wi-fi on a trial basis from 1 January 2025.

Internet is available only on board Airbus A350, Boeing 787-9 (not on board Boeing 787-8) and some of the latest Airbus A321neo aircraft.
