The Great Fire of London Memorial is located 62 m from the original site of the fire, 62 m is the total height of the monument.
You can reach the top of the monument in the form of a Doric column by climbing 311 steps and enjoy a pleasant view. If you just stay on the ground at the base of the pedestal, you can see the relief depicting burning London as well as the allegory of liberty.
Interestingly, not many people died during the Great Fire of London, with only 9-16 casualties reported. The built-up area was worse, with over 13,300 houses burnt to the ground. The fire had one surprisingly positive aspect, namely that it stopped the spread of the plague that had been plaguing London for a year, killing between 68,000-100,000 people.
