Songdo is the closest beach to Busan's historic centre and is ideal for lovers of very calm and shallow waters. It is located in a closed protected bay, the entrance to the water is very gradual and the water is always calm without waves.
The scenic cable car to the popular nature reserve Amnam Park also starts at Songdo Beach.
Swimming and beach facilities
Songdo Beach is covered in fine light sand and the calm shallow sea makes it extremely popular with families with young children and non-swimmers. The beach is 350 metres long and up to 100 metres wide in places.
The general environment around the beach is considerably quieter than the more famous Haeundae Beach, but you don't have to worry about the lack of facilities.
In the summer, you can rent sun loungers and umbrellas all along the beach or rent a pedal boat and head out to sea. The beach promenade is lined with restaurants, shops and the usual mini-markets with groceries.
Toilets and changing rooms are free of charge.
Accommodation on the beach
Looking for quieter accommodation with a beautiful view of the sea? Songdo offers the ideal conditions. Stay in a good hotel, for example. Fairfield by Marriott Songdo Beach *** right on the beach.
Transportation to Songdo Beach
