In the forests on the eastern shore of Lake Malta you will find the new Poznań Zoo. It has been moved here from the centrally located site where the original old zoo is now located.
Amidst the greenery and meadows, you can admire a host of exotic animals from rhinos and elephants to tigers, camels, lions, bison and antelopes to various reptiles and birds.

The zoo also includes a small road train that regularly circles the outer ring of the zoo. The rides are completely free. It operates on weekends during April and runs every day from May to August.

Opening hours and entrance fees
The zoo is open every day of the year, including holidays. Only the opening hours vary during the different months, as follows:
- March: 9:00 - 17:00
- April to September: 9:00 - 19:00
- October: 9:00 - 17:00
- November to February: 9:00 - 16:00
Tickets can be purchased online or at the box office outside the zoo's main entrance. Base price is:

How to get there
Right next to the zoo there is a bus stop Nowe Zoo, which is served by line 184 and also by tourist line 100, see transport around Poznan.
Alternatively, you can take a ride on the narrow-gauge Maltanka miniature railway, or you can walk here along the cycle path that runs along the shores of Lake Maltańskie.
If you're heading to the zoo in your own car, parking is charged at 4 pln per hour on weekdays and 6 pln per hour on weekends.
