The narrow sea bay of Wied Il-Ghasri is a hidden pearl of the northern part of the island. This long, photogenic bay is surrounded by stone cliffs, along which you can walk up steps that lead you to a tiny pebble beach.
If the sea is calm, the bay is also suitable for swimming and snorkelling. Moreover, where the bay empties into the sea, divers will enjoy admiring the numerous underwater caves. However, it is necessary to come here with an organised group.
There is also a small walkway along the cliffs, so you can enjoy breathtaking views from the top in addition to swimming.
How to get here
Wied il-Ghasri is located in the village of Zebbug, but a few hundred metres lower in elevation than the village centre.
The staircase leading down to the bay can be reached directly by car. However, there is only an improvised parking area for about 15 cars.
Further parking is available along the roadside about 150 metres from the bay (location on google.com/maps), where the tarmac road connecting Zebbug and Marsalforn leads.
The nearest bus stop for line 309 is 1.5 km away in Zebbug. However, the road is very steep and, especially on the way back to the bus, you will go up a steep hill.
