Electricity and power sockets
Macau's electricity grid operates at 50 Hz and with a terminal voltage of 220 V.
Due to its specific ties to Hong Kong, there are British-style power sockets, which are different to the rest of Asia.
Thesockets and plugs used in Hong Kong are 'British', i.e. type G with three rectangular holes. Each socket even has its own switch (usually right next to the socket holes) where you can turn off the electricity supply to it.
However, in hotels you will also find type D, M or F sockets.
- Sockets - G (sometimes also D, M, F)
- Voltage - 220 V
- Frequency - 50 Hz
Internet
Macau has great wifi coverage. Many open outdoor areas have free public wifi.
Due to the dense development, it is not a problem to come across free wifi in restaurants or fast food joints.
If you want to stay online constantly, the most convenient option is to buy an e-sim with any mobile data package. Such a service is offered, for example, by Airalo, which we use extensively ourselves.
It was a wonderful experience to beat 50 USD in the Casino, no amount of money would have been enough for the naive people, us tourists. I got my trips to Tanzania and other places from SWISSAIR, and in the meantime we visited Macau and Hong Kong, I will never forget them as long as I live. I have many many pictures still in talon,I look through them many times, and that's how I remember these trips,I'm banned from FACEBOOK for 180 days, for nothing, not interesting. I have time to scroll in front of the plane, so I remembered with great difficulty Zanzibar,Macau,Tanzania,Kenya,Hong Kong where I could not climb the statue because of an accident before departure, I could only stare. a 2 l water bottle fell on my left leg, accidentally, or as a hint, so that I would not walk so much in a place where there could be trouble. No harm done, I just got lost in the market and found myself listening to my group shouting my name before they found me. So I wasn't allowed to wander off on my own. I am grateful for these wonderful trips to Zsófi, who was the manager of the office I called. She no longer works there. Thank you, my dear Zsófik, and to all the SWISSAIR administrators.Pálinkás Erzsébet
I assumed that the memories of Alžběta Pálenková would be translated from Hungarian by google translator in a more understandable way...
