What travel documents do I need to travel to Hong Kong? Can I cross the border between Hong Kong and Macau or Mainland China without a visa?

Visa
Although Hong Kong is officially part of China, it maintains its own visa policy until at least 2047 due to its extensive autonomy.
Unlike mainland China, which requires a visa to be processed from an embassy, citizens of the vast majority of countries in the world do not need a visa to enter Hong Kong.
A passport valid for another 6 months after leaving the country will be sufficient for travel to Hong Kong.
For complete information on visas and entry requirements, please visit the official website of the Hong Kong government: gov.hk/en.
Trip to Macau
Macau has the same status within China as Hong Kong and also does not require travelers to visit tourist sites. However, Macau is a separate autonomous entity and therefore you must have a passport when travelling from Hong Kong to Macau. A visa is not required.
Travel from Hong Kong to Macau by bus or boat is direct (outside of China).
Trip to China
You must have a visa when travelling from Hong Kong to mainland China, even though it is technically one country. China does not even allow short-term visa-free entry at the mainland border when travelling from Hong Kong.
Other documents
Hong Kong has a very open approach in its migration policy. There are no checks on accommodation or money.
Hong Kong does not require a return ticket or a ticket to your next destination, but your airline may require it and it is a good idea to have everything ready.
Customs regulations
The importation of any animal or plant products into Hong Kong is prohibited for health reasons.
You can import 20 cigarettes (one pack), 1 litre of alcohol and 2 litres of wine duty free.

Hi, my daughter is going to Hong Kong for a six-month study trip. What is the approximate amount she needs to have in her account. Thank you in advance for your reply.

A friend of mine was in Seoul for 5 months for Erasmus and it cost him 200k including airfare.
I spelled it wrong, to get a 6 month visa she has to have cash in her account, I wonder how much that should be approx.

I thought so, but I couldn't find any answer or request anywhere. An inquiry to the embassy?

I think the school needs to communicate that. There are always some coordinators for the trip in the Czech Republic and then abroad. Alternatively, ask who has been there before how they handled the visa.
That's what they tell her at her university's international relations department. Otherwise, I can't imagine, when I went as an exchange student to university, that my mother would have been looking for information. 😯
Nowhere does it state the amount, so I would also take advice from the school.
Ad customs regulations, only 19 cigarettes allowed. In the event of a seizure, even a packet, extra draconian fines. A friend of mine could tell you...
A passenger aged 18 or above is allowed to bring into Hong Kong, for his/her own use, 19 cigarettes ; or 1 stick or 25 grams of cigars; or 25 grams of other manufactured tobacco exempt from duty.
According to the current excise duty rate in force, an excise duty of HK$3.306 shall be payable for each stick of cigarette in excess of the exempted quantities. Besides, an import licence fee which is 10% of the duty on the goods imported with a minimum fee of HK$2 will also be levied on the total duty payable.
