In Bulgaria, tolls are paid by electronic vignette for the use of motorways and ordinary roads. The cheapest vignette costs 9 bgn, or 13 bgn per week.
Paper vignettes are not sold.

Which roads are toll roads?
In Bulgaria, you have to pay to drive on all motorways and primary roads.
In practice, it is therefore impossible to drive anywhere in Bulgaria without using a vignette.
The price of tolls in Bulgaria
Below are the prices for cars under 3.5 tonnes.
Motorcycles do not pay tolls. On the other hand, trucks and buses pay according to the distance travelled.

How to pay the toll?
The easiest way to buy tolls is online at the official website bgtoll.bg.
Alternatively, you can purchase an electronic vignette from a machine where you enter the number plate and the payment is automatically registered. Vending machines can be found at all major petrol stations.
Special tolls in other sections
In addition to the stamps, you also pay tolls for specific sections. At the moment, however, only the two border bridges with Romania over the Danube River are affected:
- New Europe Brigde from Vidin to Calafat: 6 eur / 12 bgn
- Danbude Brigde from Ruse to Giurgiu: 6 eur / 12 bgn
