Letisko Žilina-Dolný Hričov is a small public international airport located 12 km from the centre of Žilina and currently without regular operations. Between 2005 and 2012, Žilina proudly glowed on the map of CSA destinations from Prague, but due to long-term low passenger interest, flights were discontinued. In recent years, there have been sporadic talks about re-establishing air connections with Prague, but so far always to no avail.

Due to the short runway, only smaller transport aircraft with a capacity of about 60 passengers can land in Žilina.
