The small international airport is located 16 km west of the centre of Zaragoza in central Spain, roughly halfway between Madrid and Barcelona. The local airport is largely used for freight, with a small modern terminal dedicated to passenger traffic.
Traffic here is very light year-round with only a few departures a day. Most flights, mainly to Western Europe or North Africa, are operated by Ryanair.
You can also buy tickets to Zaragoza on the airline's website vueling.com.
Due to its long runways, Zaragoza has been designated as one of the many emergency landing sites for space shuttles.
